So it all began many moons ago as a child spending a lot of time with my wonderful mother while Daddy traveled with his job. I learned to cook with her and watched her make a home for our family during the 70’s and 80’s where linens were ironed and appropriate forks were important and draperies were on every window.
I am the youngest of 3 girls. Being much younger than my two older sisters, I had a lot of time to myself as they were grown and gone by the time I was 8. As I reached the preteen years, my specialty was cooking an anniversary dinner for my parents every August 5th that usually came from Seventeen Magazine. Around the age of 14, I recall the locking of the bedroom door began, not to do the usual things teens do behind closed doors but to rearrange my furniture in my bedroom complete with wall decor redos and the flipping of the reversible comforters on my twin beds.
With a college degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and a minor in Music Education, almost 30 years of experience teaching children and being a school administrator, owning my own interior decorating/organizing business, working for a company as a professional organizer, one husband of 25 years, 3 kids, now 22, 19 and 15…whew! I’d say it has been a journey thus far. I hope you will join me in the upcoming journey as I share things I’ve learned that might help you or someone you know.
Hope you enjoy the adventure!
Love it Julie! I’m sharing on FB.
