Did I mention I like to organize? Well over the weekend I decided to finally get my spice rack back in the order it should be so that I can find something. That’s Alphabetical order of course! I have this wonderful full length of the door wire rack on the inside of my pantry door. It was a little pricey, I thought, when I purchased it a while back, but well worth it to me to get organized. There’s only one problem with it. The sides are a little open and sometimes things fall out. Hhhmmmmm! How to remedy that? I first tried to find something that would serve as a backdrop to make the shelves narrower for a single row of spices. I didn’t have what I needed and I am not going to purchase anything if I can make do with what I have. I tried small boxes. Not enough. I tried cardboard tubes from wrapping paper. Rolls around too much. I finally settled on black electrical tape. I know it sounds weird but it works. The tape is not really sticky but just enough to catch anything on the sides that may fall off.
Ok, so I didn’t stop there. To make it easy for the rest of my family to help keep it organized, I labeled the shelves with cute little tags I grabbed from my scrapbooking materials and tied them with some leftover red string that my daughter used a while ago on a math project for school.
The lesson in this story…Even little things make a big difference when you organize and it doesn’t have to be expensive. I didn’t spend a dime. You can do this too. Remember…
The tip of the day: “Just start with one drawer, one cabinet, one closet or one room at a time so you don’t get overwhelmed-that’s the key to getting organized.” #organized14ever (That’s me!)
