The Worst Muffins I’ve ever made?

SORRY, NO PHOTO FOR THIS ONE.  NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THE VIEWING AUDIENCE

No offense to the recipe or The Pioneer Woman but, these muffins were the worst I’ve ever made.   Brown Butter Apple Cinnamon Muffins. Sounds delicious doesn’t it?  Butter….Apples…Cinnamon.   I thought the recipe would be like the delicious Apple Cinnamon Muffins that we used to get at Publix.  Moist and appley. Is that a word?  Well it is now.

I thought these muffins would be healthier because they are made with whole wheat flour.  I’m not sure if that was a good thing or not.  The batter was crumbly and dry and they tasted like I had used dehydrated apples.  I used fresh galas, my favorite, which is what the recipe called for.  I was so disappointed because I had made them in the middle of the week on my free time before I had to be at work and wasted money on the ingredients.  Very disappointing!

This recipe is the first of the many I have made from the Pioneer Woman that was a flop.

The silver lining to this sad tale is that I took the leftover ugly muffins to work with me and my coworkers loved them.  I’m not sure how that happened.  Before I shared them I made a disclaimer that I would not be offended if they did not like them and chucked them in the trash.  So, I don’t know if they were just being nice or if I have weird taste buds.  Oh Well!  To each his own!
